Installation of a heating element
Mounting of a ladder-type radiator connected to the central heating system via a one-pipe valve with a dip-tube fitted with an electric heating element.
1. Prepare the radiator and the fittings for mounting.
• Prepare the valve with the fittings – unpack it and check for completeness of the set and the correctness of the dimensions of the connecting elements both on the side of the radiator and the central heating system. • Provide the central heating and electrical installation to the intended place.
The central heating installation should have appropriate thread enabling the connection of the bathroom fittings. In case of the electric installation, a place for a power socket with a protective pin should be prepared.
2. Mount the radiator.
• Mark the places where the mounting brackets are to be placed on the wall (photo 1, photo 2). • Fix the assembly kit and mount the radiator (photo 3, photo 4).
• Connect the radiator to the central heating system via a valve placed in one of the bottom connection studs. Screw the thermostatic head onto the valve (photo 5).
• Prepare the heating element with the fittings – unpack and check the set for completeness (photo 6). • Insert the heating element into the opposite connection stud of the radiator (photo 7). • Tighten the heating element with an appropriate spanner (photo 8). Note! Do not tighten the heating element by holding the controller casing. The heating element must be tightened with an appropriate spanner.
INFORMATION
If you are planning to install an electric heating element in the radiator meant to be connected to the central heating system, prior to installing the heating element use a one-pipe valve with a dip tube (in case of radiators fitted with two connection studs) or choose a radiator model compatible with multi-valves (such radiators have special connections prepared to install the heating element). By following the above you will avoid the necessity to change the connections on the side of the system.
