Basic rules for installation of electric elements (for detailed information please refer to relevant technical specifications):

• The selection of the electric element for the radiator must comply with the stipulations included in the technical documentation (for your convenience the technical data tables for the radiators which can work with electric elements provide information on the recommended power of the element).

• The localization of the radiator with an electric heating element against other pieces of equipment (e.g. bath, washbasin) should comply with the requirements for the radiator’s IP level.

• The recommended installation position is the vertical one with the control part of the element facing downwards. It is not possible to install the element with the control part facing upwards. The electric element can also be installed horizontally (see diagrams below).

• When installing the electric element in the radiator remember to ensure easy access to control and connection parts of the appliance.

• In case of later installation of the electric element (not together with the radiator), carefully plan such a possibility, especially if the installation requires the use of a T-connection.

• The central heating radiator used with an electric element should be fitted with a cut-off or thermostatic valve, which allows the radiator to be cut off from the system.

• Pay special attention to proper sealing of the connections between the radiator and the electric element – the gaskets are provided with the electric element.

• It is not recommended to install electric elements in the parts of the radiator with limited water flow due to the possibility of residue build-up on the heating element.

INSTALLATION

NOTE

In case of “ladder”-type radiators and those with repeated modules it is recommended that the heating element be in perpendicular position to these modules. The rule is particularly important if the element is installed horizontally.

To ensure safe use and optimal cooperation of the central heating radiator with the electric element, prior to starting the element the following conditions must be observed:

• Electric heating element selection and installation should be performed in accordance with the information provided in the instruction manual

• Prior to starting the electric element make sure that the radiator is totally filled with water

• If the radiator is fitted with two valves (feed and return), during the operation of the radiator with the electric element the feed valve should be closed, and the return one open to guarantee pressure reduction which builds up by the increased temperature in the radiator

USE

NOTE

Uneven warming of the radiator surface when the electric element is on is a natural occurrence, especially true for large or fancy-shaped radiators.
